Abstract

research about competition betwen sapitan tunggua and kangkung had observed in politeknik pertanian negeri payakumbuh, with research applied descriptive and experimental method, which use RAL of 5 different treatment and 5 repetitions. form the research and data analysis conducted. it is shown that sapitan tunggua is very potential as an invasive plant because almost all characteristics of invasive plant are owned by sapitan yunggua. sapitan tunggua which can live together with kangkung, aces as competition which can decrease, amount of leaves, steam diameter and dried weinght kangkung. its competitive level grows as the increase sapitan tunggua individualone of them is that sapitan tunggua's seed can germinate at 3-9 day, with the variability level up to 94,4%. sapitan tunggua also has a gread level of vegetative growth, from the measurement of main stem, there is a heigt growth of 4,92 cm, nodus growth 0,58 nodus and leave growth 1.15 leaves/days. sapitan tunggua can reproduce by both ways, vegetative and generative. vegetative reproduction is performed by growing bud and root from each nodus, and it can grow and develop into new complete individuals. sapitan tunggua has complete flower, inflorescent type, with flower formula o x k32-40 c(5) A5 G1, pollination are xenogamy and geitogamy, helped by insect. seed are accomodated with pappus as fasilitator of its spreading, its dispresion helped by wind
